The Russian Brides Club – What's The Secret Handshake?

Dating a Russian woman is like belonging to a secret men's club. Why? Because we all want to do it, but few will admit to it. Dating online is losing its social stigma but acceptance of international dating is a bit further behind in some social circles. This is why I call it the Russian Brides Club – finding another member of this secret society to give you dating tips is like searching for that elusive secret handshake in a crowd.

So let’s tear down the walls of secrecy and give you some pointers on situations that might leave you a little confused by international dating -

1. Her First Email Is Impersonal

Of course they are. What did you expect? You might have spent an hour pouring your life into your first contact but don't expect the same back on the first go.

A typical woman might receive 10 emails in the first few days after joining. If she is a stunning Russian woman, triple this amount. She will take the time to read each email and reply to those she is interested in and that take time. To give herself the best opportunity to get through her inbox in her limited time, she will most likely send back a generic first email saying “this is me”.

Chances are you are doing the same. I am going to guess that if you write to 10 women you will end up using the same basic email for each of them (perhaps with some personalisation) She is just doing what you are doing. You can expect more personal emails as you get to know her.

2. Things Were Going Great And Then She Just Disappeared.

Welcome to the cull. Don't get put off by this, it is just a natural part of dating.

Let’s take an example of a woman who is shown interest from 10 men. Two will probably be rejected immediately (perhaps too old or not attractive). This leaves 8 she will continue to talk to. Over the coming days and weeks this will be culled down to just 1 who she could see herself having a relationship with.

If you had been exchanging emails or even chatting through video and she just disappears from your radar, chances are you were in that cull as she narrowed down her choice. She might have been compatible with you, it's just that she found someone more suitable. She probably did not want to tell you directly (tip – women never do) so it is just easier for her to break all contact.

Don't get rejected by this – it happens to all of us. Just keep searching until you find your perfect match.

3. All Of Her Photos Look Like Modelling Shots

If her photos look like they were taken by a professional photographer, then they probably were. It is not unusual for a woman to want to look her best. And part of that is having great photos to put up on a site. This is a society where gym shoes only belong in a gym. Appearance is everything when there is a man shortage.

If you want to see more casual photos of her, give her time to get to know you. As she feels more comfortable with you, she will let you see more personal photos. These might include photos of her and her family at New Years Eve or her birthday. Just remember to reciprocate – as she lets you see more of her family and her life, make sure you do the same.
